New favorite word

Max has a new favorite word or probably more like a favorite sound. It sort of goes like this "Dadadadadadadadadadadadadada". He discovered this on Memorial day and he hasn't stopped since, really he hasn't stopped talking. I think he is trying to out do his sister since she is talking all the time. I've even asked her if she stops talking and she tells me no. He was quite proud of his new "word". Now we just have to work on "Mamamamamamamamamamama".

That is a picture of one of my favorite toys. I play with him while everyone else is eating, and now I also talk to them as well.

Memorial Day Weekend Fun

Lots of fun exciting things happened this weekend, the most fun revolved around that Aunt Stephanie came to visit and stayed overnight. On Sunday evening we took a trip down to Graeter's Ice Cream. Aunt Stephanie got to pull Zoe in her wagon this time and Zoe was excited that she got to have 3 different flavors of ice cream this time instead of 2.

Max loved Aunt Stephanie. He just couldn't stop smiling at her. Yes, Scott and I are chopped liver whenever Aunt Stephanie is over. I guess it could be worse. It gives us a little break as well.

On Memorial Day Zoe, Steph and I went out to do a little shopping and left the boys at home. And that afternoon we ran and jumped through the sprinkler. Zoe is the only person I know that uses an umbrella in the sprinkler. It was really cold and I still can't believe I actually stuck my head in a sprinkler when I was kid.

And then for a little time to calm down and blow bubbles, lots of bubbles. And Zoe had to put on some of her new clothes. And once again Max just loves Aunt Stephanie.

I'd say we had a pretty good weekend at Weaverville.

Tricycling

We headed over to the high school last night so that Zoe could really open up on her tricycle. She did great, with no falls, not even when riding there and back. It was a great evening to be outside.

I'm 6 months old

Today was my 6 month check and I was a very good boy, at least that is what mommy said. I told Zoe I would be a brave boy and I did the very best that I could. I didn't cry too much, but I had to voice my opinion some how. I've done a good job growing, all that eating has done me good. I'm now 17 pounds and 4 ounces, a whole 2 pounds and 5 ounces in the past two months. Woohoo. And I'm 26-1/2" long, a whole 1-1/2" longer. I can't wait until they say how tall I am and not how long I am. And my head is a whopping 17-3/4", the doctor called me a genius because I'm in the 87 percentile for my head circumference. It is 3/4" larger. Of course all of this growth happened in 2 months time. The doctor said that I could start eating food that I could gnaw and gum once I can pick stuff up with my fingers in the pincer grasp and I can do that. I can even get my suc-suc into my mouth all by myself. Granted sometimes I don't get the squishy part in but I'm happy. The suc-suc is the pacifier to those of you who don't know. You know I suc-suc on it. It is a fun name. I got 3 shots and an oral vaccine. The nurse was impressed that I just drank the vaccine down. It was in my mouth and well I eat pretty much anything so why wouldn't I drink that also. I didn't cry right away with the first shot, I waited a brief moment and then let everyone know. I did however stop crying on my own. Oh I also cried at the doctor, it gave him the opportunity to look down my throat and listen to my lungs really good. He said I sounded good, just loud.

So tonight I get to look forward to eating some of those banana teething biscuits that mommy got for me. I finally get to eat at the same time that everyone else is eating.

My next appointment is at 9 months in August and I don't get any shots that time. Woohoo. I'll just have to cry extra loud at the doctor that time to get all of my opinions heard.

Spinning

Sunday May 3,

We had a fun evening laying in the grass and playing with the seedpod spinners from our big tree. Zoe learned how to collect a whole bunch and throw them up into the air and Max, well he got to be the one that got dumped on. But he didn’t seem to mind too much. And we where able to keep the pods out of his mouth…
